Sollai Cartwright is an Australian sculptor working principally in marble and bronze. Trained in traditional stone carving in Pietrasanta, Italy, Cartwright works between contemporary sculptural practice and the centuries-old stone-carving traditions of the region, maintaining an ongoing relationship with its quarries, artisans and foundries.
Cartwright has exhibited throughout Australia, Europe and Asia, including Australia House, London; Sculpture by the Sea, Sydney and Perth; Lorne Sculpture Biennale; Art Central Hong Kong; MARS Gallery, Melbourne; and exhibitions in London, Berlin and Hong Kong.
His work is represented in significant private collections internationally, including those of prominent Australian and international collectors, patrons and arts philanthropists.
